Hi 2017 membership,
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support of our Executive Group as we worked through the challenges of our merger in 2017. Most of those challenges have been worked through and now we can hit the ground running for 2018 and beyond!
The last order of business for 2017 will be to hold our annual AGM on December 11 at 7pm at South Delta Recreation Hall "C". The AGM is your opportunity to get a sense of where we are at as an association, voice any concerns you may have and ask any questions. It is also your chance to get involved and help us grow the sport of softball in Delta and return it to its past glory.
Our entire organization is 100% volunteer-run. We currently have 7 voting positions and 12 non voting positions on our Executive. The non voting positions are not required to attend our monthly meetings but are certainly welcome.
I cannot stress enough, the importance that all positions are filled, as it takes a great many people to make a volunteer based association run well. Please see below for a brief description of each position and if we have someone running in that spot or if it is vacant. Please also note that if a position is currently held by someone, you are welcome to run against that person. If you would like any more information on any positions, please email Chris Roper.
President: Currently held by Chris Roper. This person shall oversee the general business of the association and represent the association at various meetings.
Vice President: Currently held by Ed Sellinger. This person shall assist the President and fill in when the President is not available.
Treasurer: Currently by Julie Wigley. This person shall oversee the financial business of the association. They will ideally have a background in accounting.
Secretary: VACANT. This person will take and distribute minutes of meetings and book meeting/clinic space on behalf of the association.
Director 1: VACANT.
Director 2: Currently held by Trent Reid.
Director 3: Currently held by Jeff Miller.
Heat Representative: Currently held by Tammy Hansen. Lias between the Executive and the Heat teams.
Invader Representative: Currently held by Ed Sellinger. LIas between the Executive and the Invader teams.
Inferno Representative: Currently held by Michelle Jordan. Lias between the Executive and the Inferno teams.
Equipment & Uniform Coordinator: VACANT. Order equipment and uniforms as well as hand out and collect for our teams.
Clinic Coordinator: VACANT. Organize and run our various clinics to include, skills, pitching, hitting and catching.
LTP Coordinator South : Currently held by Erica Hurley. Put together teams and organize sessions for the LTP teams in the South.
LTP Coordinator North: VACANT. Put together teams and organize sessions for the LTP teams in the North.
U10 Coordinator: VACANT. Put together teams and organize sessions for the U10 teams in the North & South. Work with coaches to put together a tournament team and select kids for the Supermite Tournament.
Registrar: Currently held by Michelle Jordan. Register all of our teams and kids with SBC.
UIC: Currently held by Lisa Brown-Rooke. Recruit, train and organize our umpires. Work with the allocator to ensure games are looked after.
Tournament Director: VACANT. Organize and promote our tournaments.
Scheduler: Currently held by Deborah Cartilige. Work with the Lower Mainland group to ensure our teams are included the schedules and allocate home games for all of our teams.
